Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband Christopher O’Neill announced to the public that they are expecting a second child. They are already parents to little Leonore, born February 20, 2014.
Ten months after the birth of their first child, Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher are pleased to announce a new happy event. The princess and her husband are expecting their second child, the Swedish Court announced Friday.
“We are very happy and eager to welcome a new member in our family,” said the princess and her husband quoted in a press release in Swedish and English. The announcement was relayed on the official Facebook page of the Court, prompting many congratulations.
The second child of the Princess of Sweden and her husband, the British-American financier Christopher O’Neill is expected in the summer of 2015, the statement said. The couple’s first child, Leonore of Sweden, was born on February 20, 2014.
Madeleine of Sweden, 32, the third and youngest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf, got married on June 8, 2013 to Chris O’Neill with wedding ceremony attended by 500 guests including members of several royal families. The couple met in New York, where Madeleine had found refuge of anonymity, after a highly publicized breakup with her boyfriend at the time. Madeleine and Christopher announced their engagement a year later, in October 2011.
The baby will be the third grandchild of the King. Estelle, daughter of Crown Princess Victoria, was born in February 2012. The birth of the second child Madeleine will not be the only event to delight the Swedish royal family next year. Prince Carl Philip must indeed marry his fiancée Sofia Hellqvist, on June 13.
