American Heroes Who Prevented Terrorist Attacks in Belgium Received at the White House

Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone were received at the White House. President Obama praised the courage of these three men who have neutralized Ayoub al-Khazzani in a Thalys linking Amsterdam to Paris last August.

The President of the United States received at the White House Thursday 17, three Americans who bravely neutralized a suspected terrorist last month in a Thalys train, which ensured the route between Amsterdam and Paris.

“They represent what is the best thing in Americans,” Barck Obama announced to reporters in the Oval Office, after meeting privately with Spencer Stone, 23, a member of the Air Force-old, Alek Skarlatos, another soldier, 22, and Anthony Sadler, a 23-year-old civilian. “we just want to tell them thank you, not just for saving so many lives but also for giving a beautiful image of America.”

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter also rewarded the three men for their actions during a ceremony at the Pentagon. The Soldier’s Medal, Airman’s Medal and Secretary of Defense Medal for Valor, were awarded to Skarlatos, Stone and Sadler respectively. These awards only that add to the long list of awards already received by the three men. They have been decorated with the Legion of Honour from the hands of French President Francois Hollande.
