These two are mother and son

Monica Mares and Caleb Peterson

If they are found guilty of incest, Monica Mares (36) and her son Caleb Peterson (19 years) risk 18 months in prison and a fine of 5,000 dollars in the state of New Mexico.

As reported by local media, the judge will have to decide in this delicate matter. The issue is that Monica Mares (36) and her son Caleb Peterson (19 years) have a double relationship: mother and son but also lover and lover. If they are found guilty of incest, they risk 18 months in prison and a fine of 5,000 dollars in the state of New Mexico. They will know their fate on 15 September.

Monica Mares, who became pregnant at the age of 16, had at first gave her son up for adoption. When he turned 18, Caleb Peterson (who was first called Carlos at birth) contacted her mother via Facebook. The mother, deeply moved at the time to see his son, went to visit him at his house in Texas.

To believe their words, Monica Mares and Caleb Peterson had “love at first sight”.

Monica Mares and Caleb Peterson

Caleb admitted to having multiple sexual relations with his mother. He said his mother had always had bad luck with men. He felt the need to take care of her.

Monica Mares broke the silence in the Daily Mail. She claimed to be ready to go to prison for the sake of her son.

“I have to be with him. When I get out of prison, I intend to go into a state that will allow us to be together,” she said.

Incest is a punishable offense in all 50 US states, but the details and prison sentences vary from state to state.

“If they have to lock me up for love, they can do it. There is no way to separate us. The truth is that I love him. Being away from him hurts,” said Monica Mares.

Pending judgment, Monica Mares and Caleb Peterson can no longer contact each other.

Disgusting and sick. Go to another country.

    • Deep Digga

White people do this type of shit ALL OF THE TIME but I don’t hear you telling them to go find a home country so why should these 2 perverts?

      • Bob Rooney

thats true. hispanics, blacks, hasids pop out kids like there’s no tomorrow. luckily high crime and welfare will help raise those kids.

      • DeepHouse Digga

Yeah and PLEASE believe that whites pop out kids just as quickly is not faster Opie and you people get welfare just as much as anyone else does, if not moreso, they just don’t broadcast that little tidbit of information across the television screen. Since your tv screen and the Internet are probably the only sources of interaction you have with any of those groups of Individuals you just listed and because Im a veteran who has had to tolerate other smallminded, slack jawed, backwoods, hillbilly, redneck mentality like you then I understand your stupidity but not even you can be so ignorant and delusional to think that just because the press is not reporting the HIGH rates of birth for unwed whites and the high rate of those who are on welfare, getting food stamps, Medicare and MediCaid to support those bastards does not mean it is not happening BUT you are white and you people always see, hear and believe what you are told. So if we are breeders then so be it but I would much rather be a breeder than a dickless UNDERPRODUCING, dried up asshole like you with selective use of your senses ie…..you hear, see and say what you want; pontificating and passing judgements on others without first accepting your own sorry ass state of existence.

  • extremistfred

Even ghetto dwellers use that action as a pejorative.

    • Deep Digga

And so do trailer trash trash dwelling, lily – white Mormons honey! In fact, whites do this kinda warped shit more often than anyone else but rarely do I see Hispanics, latinos, Asians or Blacks in the news about this type of crap. Just because they are NOT showing it in the news does not mean it doesn’t happen on a regular basis. White news directors control the stories we see. They will NOT air the story about the kid who got busted for selling meth at his exclusive, very expensive high school because that was THEIR kid. Those same white news directors will NOT run the piece on the college athlete who was arrested and charged with domestic assault and rape because that was the kid of a friend! Oh but shit like this and ANYTHING negative about black people will make the 8am, 9am, 11am, 12pm, 5pm and 11pm news and every news update there is so when it comes to the liberal media and their propaganda machine; I choose to believe half of what I hear and NON of what I read.

      • extremistfred

Time to get out your dictionary and look up the word pejorative. Your response reflects your obvious lack of vocabulary. You are so busy looking for an affront you missed the point. Sorry, I didn’t mean to post in cursive…

      • DeepHouse Digga

Ahhhh poor, simple little man with very limited tunnel vision. My point that you seem to fail to get is in concerning the negative connotations attached with your misuse of the work ghetto. Maybe I shouldn’t have written in cursive.

  • David O’Melia

They’re warped, obviously–but I wonder if their particular brand of warpedness (ok, not a word, but you get the gist) takes the form of, “Well, gee, it worked out so well for Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau–maybe it’ll get US on the magazine covers all over the country and maybe WE’LL get to be interviewed by William Shatner, Dr. Phil, and….hey! Maybe we’ll even get to guest spot on a REAL class-act, humdinger of a program like *gasp* HOWARD STERN! And let’s not forget Jerry Springer!!”

What a weird and sick way to seek out 15 minutes of fame–ok, more like infamy that won’t ever quit, but these people are so obviously looking for a media maelstrom that I doubt that they care if they’re met with approval or contempt just so long as they’re “getting theirs”. They’re pulling the “I love him/her so much that I just can’t bear to be apart from him/her” card and the “She was a teen mother/no man ever treated her right” card, so I guess it’ll depend on how horrible a past they can produce on the boy now. I can’t imagine them passing a psych eval, but what do I know? Where I come from, incest is still a bad thing…

    • David O’Melia

Hey, guys…just thought I’d toss out to the people who know me and can’t figure out why I “sound” so different from my normal self, it’s because my lovely wife, Karen, has hijacked my account on here and a couple other sites she’s been leaving comments on. Why is she doing this? I don’t know, because she can? And because, as she told me a moment ago, it’s fun and if no one likes what she said, it’s on me instead! (That’s my girl…LOL)

  • David O’Melia

Who, by the way, wrote or edited this article? The grammar is TERRIBLE. (Incorrect words, wrong tenses used, mixed up pronouns…we all make mistakes, this is true, but geez…)

  • BabyPookins

Definitely weird and creepy, but who cares? If they want to be freaks let them be freaks. I’d think differently if they weren’t both adults when the relationship started. But they were, so sterilize them both and let them have their strange love. I highly doubt it has anything to do with publicity.

    • bestofandy

The only “freak” here is someone that chooses not to understand human biology in any deep sense. Following a simple and shallow cultural education leads you to judge them with simple prejudice and ignorance. I could say that you should “rot in hell” for your silly comments, but prejudice and ignorance is hell already. Good luck.

      • BabyPookins

WTH? Your comment lacks any semblance of intelligence. Rot in hell?? So you’re all for mother and son having babies together? Sorry, I’m not into that “deep sense” of human biology. Good luck to you.

      • bestofandy

So maybe they DO have kids together? What do you KNOW about that, and why should you care? Biologists say genetic offspring from incest likely results in a loss of genetic diversity, possible birth defects, or maybe not. The effects are no worse than having children with fetal alcohol syndrome, or defects from parent drug exposure, or from chemicals such as pesticides, etc. Clearly you don’t know your biology and presume to insert your “morality” with no considerate thinking. The only freak here is you.

      • Jennifer Murphy

What makes your comments and views so great that you have the right to judge everyone else? What is your problem with those whose opinions are not the same as yours? What makes you so much better than everyone else? What makes you such an expert? I’m guessing your father is also your brother, or you yourself are obsessed with your sister. You sir, are the problem.

      • bestofandy

I would not promote incest to anyone. I actually would discourage it just like you. But this case is about two adults that want to choose to live together and possibly have offspring. You don’t just add up everyone’s opinion and decide that because Jesus “said no” that is the final answer. That is ignorant and stupid. Better advice is needed not dogmatic laws. Nobody in this blog has an expert opinion including you, so the advice should be up to someone that is better positioned to decide, and that is not me either. I do happen to know something about the biology of incestuous relationships generating offspring and it is not as bad as you believe or heard.

      • BabyPookins

Why do you keep bringing religion into it? It has nothing to do with a belief in a god or lack there of. I couldn’t care less if they have a romantic relationship and I’m surely in the minority with my opinion. But that’s their business. I’m more concerned with the way their children would be treated by the public. It’s simply selfish and irresponsible for these two to reproduce. You seem to just want to argue for the sake of arguing.

      • bestofandy

Well BabyPooh, where do you think the incest laws came from? They came from ancient laws inspired by religious “morality” not from scientific facts. Nowadays we seem to have more of the latter but the laws change slowly because too much of modern ignorance and bigotry is religious in origin. AS a result the public have been scared into believing that incest is “wrong” and must be banished at all cost, just like homosexuality and transgender-ism, etc. It takes time to educate people like yourself included to get it right and not call such acts “selfish” and “irresponsible” just because you don’t know science better than you should. I am trying to argue for good, but you are arguing because you are denying what you don’t know. So, please learn more on the topic please.

      • Sean Barker

Rubbish, they came from parents having babies that were deformed at a much, much higher rate. People weren’t stupid, if they could figure out all sorts of herbs, they’d notice that sleeping with your sister makes your kids turn out funny.
Whether a child born of incest is deformed all of the time or not is beside the point, because if the custom were to become prevalent in an area or family, soon enough children would be born that are born with problems – is that fair to a child?
There are also power disparities to be taken into account in the case of adult parent and child incestuous “relationships”. Either through age difference or parent-child role or both, the parent has more power over, and responsibility for, the child.

      • bestofandy

Sean, where do you get this rubbish from? Clearly you are too emotional and have no understanding for modern science. Likely you got this from your parent or neighbourhood pastor with no practical knowledge or experience in the biology. These days people are SMARTER because they understand the science or an incestuous relationship is different from what we were told by the puritans. I urge you to get better knowledge in the matter before dumping emotional rants.

  • tomas the rhymer

Fishing in the shallow end of the gene pool. Bad bad bad!

  • bestofandy

It’s too bad that this “couple” is judged by other people with bibles stuck up their butts that affect their ignorance and prejudicial views. Let’s look in the mirror please before we judge them harshly and throw them in jail. I say, let them be what they want to be.

    • Deep Digga

Lol….I say that since you seem to be condoning their behavior then it stands to reason that YOU are probably a bigger pervert than they are!

      • bestofandy

Yes I can see that coming from a VERY SHALLOW person like yourself. It is fair to say that most people that grow up with a bible or religious influence have no understanding of biology or the human mind, and cannot come to any conclusion other than what their simple and shallow culture teaches them. This may be a good time for you to actually start reading something about human biology instead of ranting that you know something about a “pervert”, or homosexual or some other term you don’t understand.

      • DeepHouse Digga

Great, another holier than though zealot. I won’t engage you. Certainly wouldnt want to cause you to go and shoot up a gay club or open fire on some daycare filled with kids so you’re excused @ bestofandy

      • Yuki Setsuko

I love how you try to be intimidating towards the people who think differently than you. You can’t reason with the unreasonable, and that saying applies to you too. Not that I agree with anything you’re saying. Also, I love how you pull the double-account trick. Once you start an argument with someone, you switch to another account while changing up your grammar and spelling just to get other people to think you’re a different person. Doesn’t really fool anyone when the accounts have SIMILAR names. But what I do know? I’m a stupid weeaboo who spends most of her time watching anime and playing video games :P

      • DeepHouse Digga

After reading your postings, I love how absolutely corny, nerdy and geeky your entries are. The fact that the only life you seem to have is some imaginary existence you have created so you can have the balls to approach me about a comment I made concerning a Mom and son sleeping together. And then you actually had the nerve to call ME a bully when you would be guilty of doing the same IF I was a lesser or weaker person but thankfully not. So grow up, become an adult, get a life and then come see me. Otherwise stay off my page and mind your corny, boring ass business

      • Yuki Setsuko

Wow. Okay, one I never called you a “bully” that’s something you pulled out of your ass. I was just saying that you shouldn’t waste your time arguing with people you can’t reason with. Also I meant the comments you posted on this specific article. I wouldn’t waste my time looking at the profile of a complete douchebag. So in all honesty the person who needs to grow up is you.

      • DeepHouse Digga

After coming to the realization that you are only about 19 or 20 years old and knowing that the human brain does not mature until age 23, I have decided to no longer engage you because it’s unfair to you. Good luck and be well child.

      • Cathy Gendron

You do realize that if these two continue their relationship and reproduce, that their children have a great chance of all kinds of birth defects, right? There are reasons for these laws, so try not to be so holier than thou.

      • bestofandy

Yes, Cathy there is a chance that their off-spring will have birth defects. There is an effect called genetic amplification and reduction caused by inbreeding and diversification, but it really takes several generations of more inbreeding before this can show up as anything seriously wrong. Inbreeding is a common phenomenon in nature and is generally harmless but is believed to be responsible for various defects that still appear in modern humans like Huntington’s and Tay-sachs genes causing serious defects. However, this is still minor and improbable in comparison to Fetal alcohol syndrome from pregnant mothers that consume alcohol, and defects from smoking and drug exposure to unborn infants. As well, pregnant mothers can also be exposed to nuclear waste and chemicals like pesticides causing much more serious defects that are not generational. There are no comprehensive laws preventing or banning these scenarios.

Generally the public does not understand the effects of inbreeding and chooses to believe dogmatic Bibical and religious explanations formed into laws, rather than respecting the rights of individuals such as this couple.

Adultery, bisexual, bestiality, homosexual, pedophile, transsexual and transvestite’s. I’m posing a rhetorical question for those taking the time to read these posted comments. What makes one of these chosen lifestyles right and the others wrong? Isn’t it like the duck calling a goose a bird when the duck is in denial of being a bird itself? If John and Bob or Mary and Jane or John, Bob and Mary or Joanie (formerly John) and Bob (formerly Mary) or John on the job (Joanie in the evening) and Mary who wishes to be Bob from now on; Can lawfully be accepted in society as a social norm – why not any of the other lifestyles that are outside of the box? Who can deny the love between parent and offspring – When love is the compelling factor in the justifying John and Bob’s relationship? There is so much media hype today about individuals who have accepted or chosen their sexual preference towards the same sex. I find it amazing that this mother and son in an admitted incestuous relationship don’t have the support from those who lobbied on behalf of Mary and Jane, John and Bob etc. Again, this is just an observational point of view.

On another level, it’s like those who enjoy alcoholic beverages condemning those who prefer cannabis. Yet, it’s the drunk drivers guilty of killing on our highways and byways.

So, Judge John puts mother and son in jail because incest is a taboo….

    • elpadr1no

Or because children born in incestual relationships have high incidence of deformities and death? Most sane people don’t have a problem with bisexuality, homosexuality, etc. Adultery, i have the same problem with adulterers as i have with liars. People lie all the time.

      • radicalmuslim

        @elpadr1no:disqus
Your argument does not matter, I could site very real statistics about the lifespan, depression rates, suicide rates, and any number of social problems homosexual people have in general, but “Love Wins!” right?

G Dorsey’s argument is spot on, why are we the LGBT no ok with incest, or bestiality, but we “have” to agree with them or it’s hate speech or bigotry.
NAMBLA and Pedophiles, people who love animals, it doesn’t matter right? Every lifestyle should be legal because that’s the way they were born, period.

        Love WINS!!!!! No matter what

      • ajd

I get your argument but the pedophile aspect bothers me most. Hypothetically, let’s pretend incest is made legal. Society (because there are too many sick people out there) will eventually evolve into couples who have children for the purpose of having sex with them. It is highly unlikely the parent will wait until their kids are of legal age (when the parent can’t be charged with being a pedophile). The parent(s) will have raised and taught the child that having sex with their parents is okay. This isn’t even a slippery slope situation. This is a freaking avalanche. The psychological damage would be catastrophic.

      • Sean Barker

Well the disgusting thing is that people who want to do that stuff are already doing it, they’re not waiting for it to be legal….

  • BosqueNorse

    Outrageous.

  • BosqueNorse

Why all the long commentary on these people? They don’t merit it. I put one word. I can cite another: Disgusting.

    • G Dorsey

      BosqueNorse,
My reason for the long commentary was not so much about this particular mother and son’s relationship – But rather my astonishment over the uproar regarding their relationship. Yet the acceptance of those other out of the box relationships flourish as norms. My personal view point I’ll share is: All of the out of the box relationships were excluded from the box by the same source that made the box. So, the duck calling the goose a bird only shows how disillusioned we have become.

  • Sean Barker

That’s really wrong. They’re both at fault here, really disgusting.
